  • 1st Vice Commander                 Thomas "Thom" Guthrie

Recognition at the Detachment of Virginia Convention on Saturday July 14, 2007

Squadron 156 was recognized by receiving a First Place Trophy for the work done by members in Americanism, Children and Youth Programs and Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Programs.  Trophies were awarded for units in three different groups determined by the number of members in the squadron.  Squadron swept the hat trick for squadrons of less than fifty members.

Benefits of Membership

Perhaps the biggest benefit one receives as a member of the Sons is the satisfaction of knowing you are helping others in your community and elsewhere. However, there are also some tangible benefits available through commercial vendors. Sons are eligible for almost all of the same discounts that are available to members of The American Legion. Just click here http://www.legion.org/members/benefits

to look at a list of many consumer benefits available to members of The Legion Family.
